About this tool

Sign PDF lets you complete and sign a document so you can send back a lease, a permission slip or an employment form without printing and scanning. If the PDF has real fill-in fields, they are found automatically and listed beside the page: text boxes, tick boxes, radio choices and drop-downs. Fill them in the list or right on the page, and tick “Flatten after filling” if the answers should be locked into the page.

Then make your signature or initials: draw them, type your name in a handwriting font, or use a photo of your real signature. Drag it onto the line and resize it. Add today’s date as plain text or as a “Signed”, “Received”, “Approved” or “Paid” stamp, and copy initials onto every page in one go. Tick “Save on this device for next time” to keep up to five signatures in this browser, ready to reuse and easy to delete.

Your document never leaves your device: it is filled and signed by your browser, and nothing is sent to a server. There is no account and no watermark.

How to use Sign PDF

  1. Tap “Choose a PDF” or drop your file onto the box.
  2. If “Fill in the form” appears, type your answers there or straight into the boxes on the page.
  3. Under “Make your signature”, choose Signature or Initials, then Draw, Type or Picture, and press “Use this signature”.
  4. Drag it onto the line and drag the round corner handle to resize. Use “Copy to all pages” for initials.
  5. Pick a date style and press “+ Add date”.
  6. Press “Save signed PDF”, then “Download signed PDF”.
Example

A two-page rental application has name, email, a tick box and a country drop-down. Fill them in, initial page 1, sign and add a “Signed” stamp on page 2, tick “Flatten after filling” and save.

Features

  • Fills real PDF form fields: text, multi-line text, tick boxes, radio buttons and drop-downs, beside the page and on it.
  • Optional flattening, so the answers become part of the page and can’t be changed afterwards.
  • Signatures and initials, drawn with a finger, mouse or stylus, typed in four handwriting fonts, or from a photo with the paper made see-through.
  • Keep up to five signatures on this device for next time, each with its own delete button.
  • Dates in five formats, as plain text or as a bordered “Signed”, “Received”, “Approved” or “Paid” stamp.
  • Drag to move, drag the corner to resize, or use the arrow keys, + and −, and Delete.
  • High-resolution signatures that print crisply.

Tips and good to know

  • This adds a picture of your signature, which is what most forms ask for. It is not a certificate-based “digital signature”.
  • Saved signatures stay only in this browser on this device. Delete them with × when you no longer need them, especially on a shared computer.
  • Form answers use the form’s standard font, which covers English and Western European letters. Write other scripts with Edit & Annotate PDF.
  • Password-protected PDFs need the password removed first: use Unlock PDF, then come back.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF, your answers and your signature are handled by your browser on your own device and are never sent to AroraTools or anyone else.

Is it free? Are there any limits?

Yes, it is free, with no sign-up and no watermark. You can sign as many documents as you like, one PDF at a time, and keep up to five saved signatures.

Can I sign a PDF on my iPhone or Android phone?

Yes. Open the page in Safari or Chrome, choose the PDF, fill the fields and sign with your finger. The page needs the internet to load, but the work happens on your phone.

Where are my saved signatures kept?

Only in this browser’s storage on this device, and only if you tick “Save on this device for next time”. They are never uploaded, and × deletes one for good.

What does “Flatten after filling” do?

It turns the filled fields into ordinary page content. Everyone sees the same answers, but nobody can edit them afterwards, including you, so keep the original if you might need changes.

Is a signature added this way legally valid?

In many countries, including Australia, the UK and the US, an electronic signature like this is generally accepted for everyday agreements when everyone agrees to sign electronically. Wills and deeds often need special formalities, so check if in doubt.

Will signing change the rest of my PDF?

Only what you add changes. The text stays selectable, links keep working, and fields you didn’t touch keep their values.
