    About this tool

Split PDF takes one PDF and breaks it into the pieces you choose. You can lift out a handful of pages into a new file, turn each range of pages into its own document, or chop a long file into equal parts of a set size.

It suits the jobs that come up all the time: sending only the signed page of a contract, pulling one chapter out of a textbook scan, separating a bundle of invoices that arrived as a single file, or sharing three pages of a report without the other forty.

The difference is where the work happens. Split PDF opens your file and copies its pages inside your own browser, so the document never leaves your device. That matters when the pages are tax returns, medical letters or legal papers. There is no account, no watermark and no daily cap, and the pages you keep look exactly like the originals.

    How to use Split PDF

    1. Tap “Choose a PDF” or drop one file onto the box. A card shows its name, page count and size.
    2. Pick a mode: “Pages into one PDF”, “Each range its own PDF” or “Every N pages”.
    3. Choose pages by tapping the thumbnails, by typing ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8- into the “Pages” box, or with the All, Odd, Even and Clear buttons. In “Every N pages”, set “Pages per file” instead.
    4. Press “Make PDF” (or “Make 3 PDFs” when there will be several files).
    5. Press “Download PDF”. Several files arrive together in one ZIP.

ExampleA 10-page file called report.pdf with the range “1-3, 4-10” in “Each range its own PDF” mode becomes two files, report-pages-1-3.pdf and report-pages-4-10.pdf, downloaded together as a ZIP.

    Features

    • Three ways to split: gather chosen pages into one PDF, make one file per range, or cut into equal parts every N pages, with the last file holding any pages left over.
    • A thumbnail of every page, so you can see what you are picking. Tap a page to tick or untick it.
    • Typed ranges and ticked thumbnails stay in sync. “8-” means page 8 to the end.
    • Your typed order is kept when gathering pages into one PDF: “5, 1-3” puts page 5 first, and “5-1” gives the pages in reverse.
    • Plain error messages when a range goes past the last page, telling you how many pages the file really has.
    • Pages are copied as they are. Text stays sharp and selectable, images are not re-compressed and nothing is redrawn.
    • Clear file names, such as report-pages-1-3.pdf, or report-extracted.pdf for a single gathered file.
    • The splitting runs in a background worker, so the page stays responsive on long documents.

    Tips and good to know

    • Quick buttons save typing: Odd then “Make PDF” gives you the front sides of a double-sided scan in one file.
    • Bookmarks (the clickable outline in a PDF reader’s sidebar) are not carried into the new files.
    • Fillable form fields may stop being fillable once split. Fill the form in and save it before you split.
    • Links inside the PDF that jump to a page you left out will no longer go anywhere.
    • Very big files can strain a phone’s memory. If a huge scan struggles on your phone, try a computer.
    • “Start over” asks you to confirm if you have not downloaded your result yet, so a stray tap won’t lose your work.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. Your browser opens the file and copies the pages on your own device. Nothing is sent to AroraTools or to anyone else.

Is it free? Are there any limits?

Yes, it is free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The tool sets no page limit. The only practical limit is your device’s memory with very large files.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Open the page in Safari or Chrome, choose a PDF from Files, Google Drive or your downloads, and tap the thumbnails to pick pages. You need the internet to load the page, but the splitting itself happens on your phone.

How do I extract just a few pages?

Use “Pages into one PDF”, tick the pages you want or type them, for example 2, 7-9, then press “Make PDF”. You get one new file holding only those pages.

Can I split a PDF into several separate files?

Yes. In “Each range its own PDF”, every range you type, separated by commas, becomes its own file. In “Every N pages”, the PDF is cut into equal parts. Several files download together as one ZIP.

    Will splitting lower the quality?

No. Pages are copied exactly, so text, photos and drawings look the same as before and text can still be selected and searched.

    Can I split a password-protected PDF?

Not as it is. The tool spots the password when you open the file and tells you. Remove the password first, then open the unlocked copy here.
