Will the colours print exactly like this?

Not always. Screens mix light (RGB); printers mix ink (CMYK), and some bright screen colours, like vivid blues, greens and oranges, can't be made with ink, so they print a little duller. The PDF keeps your colours as RGB and the print shop converts them. For brand-critical colours, ask the shop for a printed proof first, and avoid very thin light text on dark backgrounds.

    About this tool

Business Card Maker gives you a real card editor in the browser. Fill in your details, pick one of six templates, and the card is laid out for you. Then make it yours: drag any line of text, resize it from a corner, rotate it, change its font and colour, and add your own text boxes, boxes, circles, lines, pictures, a logo or a QR code. Lines appear as edges line up, a layers list sets what sits in front, and Undo and Redo (Ctrl or ⌘ + Z) are always there.

Cards can be landscape or portrait, single- or double-sided, in the three common sizes: US and Canada (3.5 × 2 in), Europe and Australia (85 × 55 mm) and Japan (91 × 55 mm). The grey edge around the card is the bleed: 3 mm of background past the cut line, so no white slivers show if the blade is slightly off. The print-shop PDF includes it, plus crop marks. Printing at home? Download a sheet of up to 10 cards on A4 or Letter, backs mirrored for double-sided printing.

The QR code can hold your website or a vCard, a contact file phones offer to save straight into Contacts. Everything, including your logo, stays on your device.

How to use Business Card Maker

    1. Type your details under "Your details". The name, title and contact lines on the card follow what you type.
    2. Under "Design", choose the size, Landscape or Portrait, a template, fonts and colours, and press "Add a logo" if you have one.
    3. On the card, tap or click anything to select it. Drag to move, pull a corner to resize, use the round handle to rotate. The settings panel changes its font, colour, size and more.
    4. Use Text, Box, Circle, Line, Picture, QR code and Contact block above the card to add things, and "Layers" to put them in front or behind. Switch to "Back" to design the other side.
    5. Press "PDF for a print shop", or "Sheet of 10" for home printing, or save a PNG of either side.
    Example

An 85 × 55 mm card becomes a 109 × 79 mm PDF page: the card plus 3 mm bleed on each side and a 9 mm margin holding the crop marks, with the back on page 2.

    Features

    • Free placement: drag, resize and rotate every element, with snapping guides to the edges, centre, safe margin and other items
    • Add text boxes, boxes, circles, lines, pictures, your logo, QR codes and contact blocks; duplicate, lock or delete any of them
    • Layers list, undo and redo (Ctrl/⌘ + Z, Shift + Ctrl/⌘ + Z), arrow keys to nudge
    • Landscape or portrait, front and back, in US/Canada, Europe/Australia and Japan sizes
    • Six templates with matching backs, 18 bundled fonts and theme colours that recolour the whole layout
    • QR code with your website or a vCard, in square, rounded or dot style, with a size check for reliable scanning
    • Print-shop PDF: 3 mm bleed, vector crop marks, 600 dpi, back on page 2
    • Home sheet: up to 10 cards on A4 or Letter with crop marks and mirrored backs; PNGs of both sides at 600 dpi

    Tips and good to know

    • Keep text inside the dashed line ("Show safe area"); anything in the grey bleed is cut off.
    • Use a logo with a transparent background (PNG or SVG) so it sits cleanly on coloured designs.
    • Before ordering a big batch, print one sheet at "Actual size" (not "Fit to page") and check it with a ruler.
    • The card is placed in the PDF as a sharp 600 dpi image, so fonts print exactly as you see them, but the text cannot be edited in the PDF afterwards.
    • Picking a new template or switching between landscape and portrait lays the card out again. If you lose changes you wanted, press Undo.

    Frequently asked questions

Is my information or logo uploaded?

No. The card is drawn by your browser and the PDF and PNG files are made on your device. Your details, logo and pictures are never sent anywhere; your last design is kept only in this browser.

Is it free? Any limits or watermark?

It is completely free, with no account, no watermark and no limit on designs or downloads.

Does it work on a phone or offline?

Yes. You can drag and resize with a finger in Safari and Chrome on iPhone and Android. Designing works offline once the page has loaded, but the first PDF and any font you have not used yet are fetched from this site, so stay online until you have downloaded.

Will the colours print exactly like the screen?

Not always. Screens mix light (RGB) and printers mix ink (CMYK), so some vivid blues, greens and oranges print slightly duller. For brand colours, ask the print shop for a proof.

How do I print double-sided at home?

Download the sheet and choose double-sided printing: flip on the long edge for landscape cards, or the short edge for portrait cards (their sheet is sideways). The backs are mirrored so each lands behind its front.

Why does the sheet sometimes hold 8 cards instead of 10?

Five rows of 55 mm cards do not fit on US Letter with a safe printing margin, so the sheet uses four. US-size cards fit 10 on both papers, and the other sizes fit 10 on A4.
