About this tool
Circle Video turns any clip into a round video bubble, the look made popular by Telegram’s video messages, or into a rounded square, squircle, hexagon or heart. Choose a video, drag the box over the preview to frame a face or an object, and use Zoom to move in closer. A small preview beside the options shows exactly how it will look, ring and all.
The corners outside the circle can be truly see-through or filled with a colour. See-through corners are saved as a WebM with VP9 video, the format that can carry transparency on the web; the tool tests that your browser can really write it before offering it. Coloured corners are saved as an MP4, which plays in every app and on every phone (or as a WebM in the few browsers that can’t write MP4; the label tells you). You can add a thin or thick ring in one colour, or one that spins through two colours or a rainbow. Pick a size from 384 up to 1080 pixels, and keep the clip short with a length limit from any starting point.
Quick set-ups fill everything in for common jobs, including a Telegram video sticker: 512 pixels, see-through, silent, three seconds or less, with quality aimed under Telegram’s 256 KB limit.
It all runs in your browser. Your video is never uploaded, and there is no sign-up or watermark.
How to use Circle Video
- Tap “Choose a video” or drop one onto the box. MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV all work.
- Drag the frame over the preview to choose the subject, and use Zoom (or drag a handle) to move closer.
- Pick a Shape (set the Corner radius for a rounded square), a Size, then “See-through · WebM” or “Colour · MP4”. Add a Ring and its colour if you want one. Or tap a Quick set-up.
- Set the Length limit and where it starts: type a time, or press “From the preview frame” after scrubbing to the moment you want.
- Press “Make shaped video”, watch the result on the page, then press “Download video”.
Features
- A draggable, resizable frame over a live, playable preview, plus a Zoom slider and arrow-key nudging.
- Truly see-through corners as WebM (VP9 with alpha), checked for real in your browser before it is offered.
- Coloured corners as MP4 (H.264 + AAC) that plays everywhere, in any colour you pick; WebM where a browser can’t write MP4.
- Five shapes: circle, rounded square with a corner radius slider, squircle, hexagon and heart.
- Optional thin or thick ring that follows the shape: one colour, a two-colour spin or a rainbow spin.
- Sizes of 384, 480, 512, 640, 720 and 1080 pixels, and length limits of 3, 15, 30 or 60 seconds from any start.
- Quick set-ups for a Telegram-style bubble, a 1080 px rounded-square post, a Telegram video sticker and a see-through web clip.
- A live bubble preview showing exactly what will be saved, over a checkerboard for transparency.
- Keeps the sound, or drops it for stickers and silent loops.
Tips and good to know
- Frame faces slightly above the centre of the circle: it looks more natural in a round bubble.
- For Telegram video stickers, use the quick set-up. Telegram asks for 512 pixels, three seconds or less, no sound and under 256 KB.
- If a see-through WebM shows black corners, the app or player doesn’t support transparency. Use coloured corners matched to the background instead.
- For a website, put a see-through WebM in a video tag with autoplay, muted and loop for a floating round clip in Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
- Smaller sizes make much smaller files: 384 or 480 pixels is plenty for a chat bubble; keep 1080 for posts.
Frequently asked questions
Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser crops, masks and saves the video on your own device. Nothing is sent to AroraTools or anyone else.
Is it free? Are there limits?
Yes, it is free, with no sign-up and no watermark. You can keep the whole video or limit it to 3, 15, 30 or 60 seconds; the practical limit is your device’s memory.
Does it work on iPhone, Android and offline?
Coloured-corner MP4s work on recent phones: iPhone and iPad with iOS 16.4 or later, and Android with an up-to-date Chrome. See-through WebM needs a browser that can write VP9 with transparency, which Chrome, Edge and Firefox on a computer can; the option is greyed out where it won’t work. The page needs the internet to open, but the work happens on your device.
Which apps show the see-through corners?
Chrome, Edge and Firefox show WebM transparency on web pages, OBS shows it as a media source, and Telegram accepts it as a video sticker. Safari and iPhones don’t display WebM transparency, and WhatsApp and Instagram don’t accept WebM files at all, so use coloured corners there.
Can I send this as a round Telegram video message?
Telegram’s round video messages are recorded inside its app, so a video you send from your files arrives as a regular video. With corners coloured to match your chat background, it still looks like a round bubble.
Why does the MP4 have coloured corners instead of see-through ones?
MP4 with H.264, the format every phone plays, can’t store transparency. WebM with VP9 can, which is why see-through bubbles are saved as WebM.
