About this tool
Business Document Templates gives you five everyday documents written in plain English: a mutual NDA (both sides keep each other’s secrets), a one-way NDA (you share, they keep quiet), a business proposal, a press release and a covering letter to send with a quote. Pick one, fill in the form on the left, and the formatted document on the right updates as you type.
Anything you haven’t filled in yet shows as a highlighted [placeholder], so nothing slips through, and a counter says how many details are left. When it reads right, download a PDF with proper typography and page numbers, or a Word file (.docx) you can keep editing in Word, Google Docs, Pages or LibreOffice.
The NDAs are a sensible starting point, not legal advice. You choose the governing law (the country or state whose law applies), and you should have a lawyer check the wording for your situation before anyone signs. Everything happens in your browser: nothing you type is uploaded, and your answers are remembered on this device only.
How to use Business Document Templates
- Under “Choose a template”, pick Mutual NDA, One-way NDA, Business proposal, Press release or Quote cover letter.
- Fill in the fields. Highlighted [brackets] in the preview show what’s still missing.
- Pick “Classic serif” or “Modern sans” and A4 or Letter paper.
- Press “Download PDF” to send or print, or “Download Word (.docx)” to keep editing.
- Come back later and your answers are still there. Press “Clear this form” to start that template again.
For a proposal, type each price on its own line as “Design and build | 8500” and “Hosting for a year | 1,200”. The document shows them as a table, formatted in your currency, with a total of $9,700.00 underneath.
Features
- Five templates: mutual NDA, one-way NDA, business proposal, press release and quote cover letter, each with its own fields.
- Live preview of the formatted page, with empty fields highlighted and counted.
- PDF download with justified text, numbered clause headings, signature blocks and “Page 1 of 3” footers.
- Word (.docx) download with real headings, lists and tables, ready to edit.
- NDA governing law, confidentiality period, purpose and both signatories filled in by you.
- Proposal price table with automatic total in any of 30 currencies, a timeline table and an acceptance signature.
- Press release with “For immediate release” or an embargo line, dateline, quote, “About” section, media contact and ###.
- Answers for each template saved in your browser, so switching between them loses nothing.
Tips and good to know
- Use the full legal names of each business in an NDA, exactly as registered, not trading names.
- Keep the NDA purpose specific (“to discuss a joint booking app”) rather than broad: it limits what the information may be used for.
- A press release headline works best at about ten words that say who did what. Put the most important facts in the first paragraph.
- The PDF uses the built-in Times and Helvetica fonts, which cover English and Western European letters. The page warns you if a name uses letters they lack; the Word file keeps every character.
Frequently asked questions
Is anything I type uploaded?
No. The preview, the PDF and the Word file are all made in your browser. Your answers are stored only in this browser on this device, so they’re there when you come back.
Is it free? Are there limits?
Yes, it’s free with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many documents you make or download.
Is this NDA legally binding?
A signed NDA can be binding, but whether this wording suits you depends on your country, state and deal. It’s a plain-English starting point, not legal advice. Have a lawyer review it before anyone signs.
What is the difference between a mutual and a one-way NDA?
In a mutual NDA both parties share confidential information and both promise to protect it, which suits partnerships and joint projects. In a one-way NDA only one side shares, for example when a freelancer or supplier needs to see your plans to quote.
Can I edit the document after downloading?
Yes. Download the Word (.docx) file and open it in Word, Google Docs, Pages or LibreOffice to change any wording, add your logo or add clauses.
Does it work on a phone, and offline?
Yes. On a phone the form comes first and the preview follows, and both downloads save to your files. Once the page has loaded it keeps working without a connection.
