About this tool
Watermark Video puts a text or logo mark on every frame of a video, so people know where it came from and it is harder to pass off as someone else’s. Type your name, handle or copyright line in one of 18 bundled fonts, or choose a logo image (a PNG with a see-through background works best). It can also burn in a running timer, countdown or date-and-time stamp, and subtitles from an .srt or .vtt file.
Place it with the nine-spot grid and an edge gap, or simply drag it on the video. Size follows the video, so the mark looks the same on a phone clip or a 4K file. Set the opacity, turn it, add a shadow or outline, or set it on a coloured Badge pill like a channel tag, or repeat it as a tiled pattern across the whole picture. To make it harder to crop or blur out, let it bounce around the frame or jump between corners. You can also show it only between two times, with a gentle fade in and out.
The preview draws the mark on the playing video exactly as it will be saved. Saving re-encodes the picture on your device and copies the sound across untouched whenever the format allows. Nothing is uploaded and there is no sign-up.
How to use Watermark Video
- Tap “Choose a video” or drop one on the box. It opens in the player.
- Pick Text or Logo image. Type your text and choose a font, or press “Choose logo”.
- Tap a spot on the grid or drag the mark on the video. Set size, opacity, turn and effect.
- Optionally choose a Movement, tick “Only part of the video”, add a timer or date stamp, or press “Add .srt or .vtt” for subtitles.
- Pick MP4 or WebM, press “Add watermark”, then play the result and press “Download video”.
A 2-minute cooking video for social media: type “@yourkitchen” in Bebas Neue at 5%, 60% opacity with a shadow, bottom right. Choose “Jumps corners” so it moves every few seconds, then Add watermark keeps the original sound and saves an MP4.

- Burned-in subtitles from .srt or .vtt: top or bottom, size, outline, dark box and a timing shift.

- Sound copied without re-encoding when possible; saves MP4 or WebM with a progress bar and Stop button.
Tips and good to know
- Keep opacity between 40% and 70%: visible enough to credit you, light enough not to spoil the video.
- An outline or shadow keeps white text readable over bright skies and snow.
- For clips you send to clients before payment, a tiled pattern is much harder to remove than one corner mark.
- Bouncing marks are hardest to crop out; corner jumps are calmer to watch.
- Subtitles a little late or early? Type a timing shift such as -0.5 or 1.2 seconds.
- Your settings are remembered in this browser for next time (the logo is not).
Frequently asked questions
Is my video or logo uploaded?
No. Both stay on your device. The watermark is drawn and the video is encoded by your own browser, and the logo is only kept in this tab.
Is it free, with any limits?
Yes, free with no sign-up, and the tool adds no mark of its own. There is no set length limit; long or high-resolution videos depend on your device’s memory and take longer.
Does it work on a phone, and offline?
It works in current Chrome on Android and Safari on iPhone and iPad with iOS 16.4 or later. The page needs the internet to load, then the work happens on your device.
Does adding a watermark lower the quality?
The picture has to be encoded again, which always loses a little. “Like the original” aims for about the original’s bitrate; choose “Higher” if you want to be safe. The sound is copied untouched when the format allows.
Can I add subtitles or a timer without a watermark?
Yes. Choose “No mark” as the watermark type, then pick a timer or add an .srt or .vtt file. The button changes to “Save video”. A date stamp starts from the file’s saved time, which you can change.
What do the movement options do?
“Bounces around” drifts the mark across the picture and off the edges. “Jumps corners” moves it to the next corner every few seconds with a quick fade. Speed sets how fast.
Can someone remove the watermark?
Any visible mark can be cropped or painted out with enough effort. Moving and tiled marks make that much harder, and every frame is baked into the picture, not a separate layer.
